Its story
The Beni Ouarain are a confederation of Amazigh tribes living in the mountains of the Middle Atlas, where winters are long and harsh. For centuries their deep-pile rugs served as blankets, mattresses and a shield against the cold. The wool comes from the sheep of the high plateaus: it is washed, carded and spun by hand, then knotted on an upright loom, row after row. The diamonds are never drawn in advance. Each weaver composes them from memory, and it is that hand that makes every piece unique.
